Our Plea Read Count : 155

When will we see?
This affliction none can beat.
This wretched thing we call humanity.
This our curse, enduring silently.

Our souls do repent and plea,
For a simple gesture of mercy.
While forgiveness we refuse to see.
For those who have committed a travesty.

Our paths we pretend we all can see,
While we wonder lost as if at sea.
We fight our father’s hand,
The creator of every grain of sand?

Spending life away from his divine plan.
While we build our homes upon shifting sand.
When all falls away, swept by life’s waves.
We ask “father show me your way?”

Yet when all seems calm,
Our storms are all but gone.
So easily his presence seems lost.
Until with trouble and strife,
We plea for him to save our life.
