The next day starts with Me and Mariah in the classroom with a bunch of students and a teacher is in front of a chalkboard.

The teacher announces that the class has to work in teams of two for a writing assignment.

Me and Mariah smile at each other.

A few minutes later, I wrote down a few ideas for a story.

“Okay, I came up with five ideas, can you draw pictures that would match the story to see which one is the best?” I asked Mariah.

“Sure, tell me and I’ll draw”, said Mariah, with a smile.

From a distance, Crystal and a girl who has long curly blonde hair, wearing a school uniform named Amy high five, while looking at me and Mariah.

“How cute”, said Amy.

“I agree, do you think that they will finally become a couple?” asked Crystal.

“You gave up hope?” asked Amy.

“I’m starting to”, said Crystal.

“Mariah hasn’t made a move to see how Kanisha replies”, Amy whispers.

“Yup, too true”, Crystal whispers back.

Back with Mariah and I.

“Alright, here’s my first idea, two girls that love reading in the library then one day one of the books sends them into a different realm where there’s wildest dreams can come true”, I said.

Mariah draws two girls looking at a book that is glowing on the top of a paper, then in the middle of the paper the girls are walking in a forest with elves, fairies, and a giant wolf; she shows it to me.

“It’s beautiful, but I just don’t know about the story”, I said.

“Yeah, seems two ordinary, what if add a little twist, how about instead of girls how about boys and their in a world where it’s vampires vs humans”, Mariah thinks up.

“It’s brilliant, but how about it taking place in the 1800s”, I said.

Mariah and I gave each other a high five.

“Girls, you have an idea?” asked the teacher.

“Indeed, we do”, said Mariah.

The teacher gives us a bunch of papers and says “Good luck”.

“Thank you”, said Mariah and I.

In the literature club room, Mariah and I are working on our assignment.

“Mariah, you know writing this story makes me feel a little sad”, I admitted.

“Why had a bad day?” asked Mariah.

“I had a date yesterday, but it didn’t go well, he got attacked by a bunch of monkeys and he started screaming like a girl, which made me walk out on our date”, I told Mariah, sounding disappointed, then laughed. “Sorry, I shouldn’t have put this on you”.

“Well, maybe it was for the best, how would the relationship go?” Mariah pointed out.

“True, I mean I only had a crush on him, but he seemed like he wanted to get into an actual relationship with me, and I don’t feel like that way about him”, I noticed.

“But you told him that you wanted to be on a date, which could lead to a relationship”, Msriah figured out.

“I hate that you can read me like a open book”, I said, blushing.

I looked up and saw Mariah is drawing a cartoon version of her in a ponytail, wearing a red bow, pink plaid dress and red heels; I laughed.

“Nice picture, you caught my good side”, I said.

“I agree, she looks adorable”, said a girl.

A girl who has one blonde ponytail, wearing a red plaid dress and red heels named Frankie.

“So, what are you up to?” asked Frankie.

“Haven’t you heard about Ms. L’s assignment where one person writes the story and the other draws?” asked a boy with a guitar.

This boy has short brown hair, white skin, wearing a red buttoned shirt, blue jeans, and white shoes named Gary.

“You mean making a comic?” Frankie corrected Gary.

“Pretty much”, said Mariah.

“Can I take a peak?” asked Frankie, looking curious.

“Mariah?” I asked.

“Okay, but only two pages”, said Mariah.

“Deal”, said Frankie.

Frankie looks at two pages as she promised, nods, and gives it back to me.

“Well?” asked Mariah.

“It’s beautiful, you are a truly amazing artist”, said Frankie, then bows. “I respect your work”.

“Now, now, I don’t need to be bowed at, besides Kanisha’s writing is what Inspired me”, said Mariah.

A few people clap at me.

“It was nothing, after all we always work together as a team”, I said.

Mariah blushes, and tries to cover it with a notebook.

Frankie smiles, then sits beside, and whispers “Hey, have you ever thought of Mariah as more than friends?”

I blushed, then took Frankie’s hand, walked out the door, closed the door, and says “You’re asking that on purpose”.

“Answer the question”, said Frankie.

“No, I mean maybe, but it could never work or maybe it could”, I babbled, feeling confused.

“So, you’re conflicted”, Frankie figures out.

“Maybe”, I blushed.

“It’s okay, all ‘just friends’ start out that way”, said Frankie.

“They do?” I asked.

“Sure, here, how about we have a slumber party and we’ll talk more about it there”, said Frankie. “Agreed”.

“Agreed”, I shook Frankie’s hand.

“Good girl, let’s go back”, said Frankie.

Frankie took my hand, then we walked back into the literature club room.

Mariah is talking to Gary, while blushing.

I backed up and runs.

“Kanisha! Wait!” called Frankie, then goes after me.

“What happened?” asked Gary.

“She knows”, Mariah panicked.

“It’s about time”, said Crystal, with a smoothie in her hand, then drinks.

“How long have you been standing there?” asked Mariah.

Amy appears from behind the door, and says “Not long”.

“Mhmmm”, said Mariah, not believing what Amy said.

I runned into the gym, which was empty.

Frankie opened the door, I was hiding on the stage with the curtains closed.

“Kanisha! Please come out, why did you run?” asked Frankie.

‘I don’t know, something in my heart, ironically and not my mind told me to run’, I thought.

“Kanisha! Come out, let’s talk, is it possible you realized that you love Mariah like she loves you”, said Frankie, while looking around.

“That is impossible”, I said, opening the curtains, then faces Frankie.

“Then, why did you run? And please don’t tell me you didn’t want her to know you know she has a crushes on you”, Frankie wondered.

“I...Well...I...I just came up with a brilliant idea and I wanted to be somewhere far away from Mariah”, I lied.

“Oh! And what would that be?” asked Frankie.

“Well, it’s more of a challenge, if you can get Mariah to admit her feelings to me in a romantic way, then maybe I’ll consider what you say is the truth”, I said.

“Oh! Challenge accepted”, said Frankie. “But, can we still have that sleepover?”

“Oh yeah”, I said.

Frankie and I shook hands.
