Tired and hungry
Down on my luck
Asked the man
If he could spare a buck
He said
Come inside
I have just the thing
That will get you on
Your feet again
He pulled out a contract
The longest I’ve seen
Said this is the one
That everyone sees
It has life and death
And taxes and fees
It costs a small fortune
But it’s guaranteed
This is the way
To find your feet again
To get you where
You need to be
Just sign this waiver
That you agree
To give your life over
Over to me
We’ll give you all
That you’ll ever need
No need to work
Or repay the deed
Food is here
For your family
But your children
They’ll belong to me
They’re education
Is free of charge
But they’ll be taught
That I’m in charge
Of all that they want
All that they wish
All that they believe in
Here on this list
If they do as they’re told
And speak what I say
They’ll be taken care of
Til they’re dying day
They must turn from their GOD
And worship mother earth
Hand over their children
From their first day on earth
They must bow to my idols
And give fealty
They must turn from their ways
And sin mightily
Have children with anyone
As long as they’re for me
Sin here upon the streets
Where everyone can see
Make sacrifices to idols
That we will appoint
The blood of your children
Will soon anoint
Don’t worry, it’s safe
We’ve done it before
No one feels a thing
After hitting the floor
We’ve rooms and rooms
To slaughter the poor
No sacrifice to small
That comes through our doors
We’ve men and women
In charge of the lines
They’ll get you through
In the nick of time
Now, before we go on
Is there anything— you’d like to say
About what we provide
As services today?
The cost may seem high
But you get everything
From your day of birth
Til your dying day
I sat for a moment
Dumbstruck, in awe
That there was a man
Selling everything I saw
I looked at my hands
As they signed away
This life that I lived
On this pleasant day
He snatched it away
As fast as he could
Took it from me
And locked it away
He laughed at my plight
Til tears they appeared
Told me to leave
Before he boxed my ears
Now I’m a slave
To the man here in charge
Forever in chains
A slave on this barge
Be careful the contract
The page that you sign
For some of them rob you
Til the end of time
