Like passing ships with both flares litGrasping rescue from the nightThere had seemed no end in sightNo purpose to my life, no reason.DistractionNew directionFresh wind beneath our sailsDiving familiar watersSearching for who to save.Carried on different wavesTrying desperately in vainTo catch the same, but time and time againMore waves came.Waves came crashing inTime and time again.Showering voices whispering wisdomChannelled through oceans of lifeStretching out to hold my head above waterBut time and time again waves came crashing in.Echoes fade but my mouthIt will never go under.(1998)
