Chapter 3 (Longer, as requested, multiple times ;p)

I place my shot glass on the bar top and turn back to James. He looks me up and down with his gentle blue eyes, observing every inch of me. "I will never not be stunned with how gorgeous you are, Lana." He always knows just what to say to make me blush. Rather than coming up with a slick response, I grab him by the arms and drag him towards the dance floor.

Together we make our way past the crowd and to the center, he wraps his arms around my waist and we dance to the song that the DJ has playing. I can never get tired of having him around, he is my other half, something I could never part with. Of course, it hasn't always been smooth sailing between us, but we manage to figure things out. A few songs pass by as we laugh and discuss work with each other. 

James is a lawyer in a huge firm that his father runs, and his belief is that I work as a full time secretary in a big-time company. It isn't a complete lie, but it's not quite the truth. In reality, I commit felonies and crimes day to day, working for the V.I.L.I.N corporation. 

James looks down at his watch and gives me one of his "I wish we could continue, but I have to go" looks. I roll my eyes at him jokingly, knowing that he does this at the same time every night before a court day. As a lawyer, he has a busy schedule and can not risk losing too many hours of sleep. 

He and I walk out to the car and start our drive back to his apartment. "You know," he starts, "You can always go ahead and move in with me. I mean, you're over almost every night, and yet you refuse to make this a thing." We have this discussion nearly every week, and everytime we do, I have the same response. "I'm not ready yet, James. I'm sorry." 

He slides his hand over my thigh, assuring me that it is fine. I really wish that I could move in with James. But there are just some things I'm not ready for him to know about me. Some secrets are better left unknown, and my being a Villain is one of them.
