I felt like a thief next to you,
When you hid me from all your friends. 
 I thought I was just like a friend to you,
When you hid me from your relatives.

I thought that I could never be enough
 And that you would not be able to fight 
And in the end, that was what happened,
 That was the reason for our breakup.

  I was just a shadow 
That warmed your arms, 
But never your heart.
I was just a name
 You sometimes used to call.

I'm proud of myself 
That I never went back.
I didn't deserve to be 
Treated like that.

It is said that love blinds you, 
But makes you see things clearly
As they were,
 Long after they happened.
When you have no feelings inside.
