I feel safe in the darkness...safe all alone,
safe under the blanket of my cozy square shaped room,
my lights are never on, and the closed curtains shield me from the day.

It is late evening-almost night at 6:30,

I'm aware of the winter tagging close.

I open the blinds all the way up and slide the curtains all the way across, so I can look down at the bustling streets, with the twinkling lights that look like small stars from afar.

I open my windows to make way for the cold air and I breathe- very deeply- letting it fill my lungs. *Haaa*

I breathe out.

I look up at the sky for a moment and know it's going to rain.

I return to my bed... Drag the covers over my head and get lost in la la land while waiting for it to rain.

This is
Safe.'
