A couple of hours ago I received some devastating news from Jared about one of our writers; Maurice Beres.

It saddens me to say it out loud but it is what it is. Maurice, who had been sick for a while, passed away about a month ago. He was 86 years old. His daughter reached out to Jared via email today to inform him of her father's passing and also to let Jared know how much her father loved Writer's Outlet, so much so that it was mentioned in his memorial. 

If you have been on this app long enough, you would have read Maurice's writings as he was one of the active and regular writers. Not only that, he was also one of those thoughtful writers who would read other writers' writings and offer his sincerest feedback. He was truly an inspiration and a sweet and gentle soul. I will miss reading his writings and his presence here but I will always remember him.

Maurice, you've got your wish. You will be reunited with your beloved son. 

Rest well, my friend, and be at peace.
