I’m afraid I’m being foolish
As a result of my blindness, a blind
Trust
My complete emotional immersion.
Judgment blurred,
Inhibitions lowered.
I live life for the m oment
And cherish each one
Life never stays one way.
But when it’s a drag;
Release yourself.
Unstrap your mind, make it your own.
Now is the time to be free!
Stray from the pack.
Remember,
The past, your past, but one mustn't obsess!
You will learn from your stories, but beware the glories
The memories of triumph, power, and the rest we all know.
Their intoxication OVERPOWERS,
Even the strongest of
Men.
Nobody can resist the temptation;
The lure!
That positively magical sense of pure ecstatic rapture,
It’s natural, it’s always there!
Exactly the same,
perhaps more so.
We glorify and promote it, without thinking twice.
It’s overpowered our frontal lobe;
it pushed it back
You’re basing life off feeling a sensation?
That is not real!
That I’m sure.
They may have been once, sometime,
Who knows how long ago?
Do you even?
Who cares,
it’s past and I’m not one to get stuck.
In the past, our past,
Or my past.
Your past.
But now it’s not quite relevant.
Perhaps to simply learn from.
What one shouldn't do at times.
How could we have been so blind?
Our eyes were open but our minds were closed
we didn't know what is meant to open up
to free at last
to bend,
or twist
or blow
OUR MINDS
Until, suddenly, the truth:
A fiery EXPLOSION,
Where from? You do not know?
It says, so clear
Just like a summer day
It’s warm and kind and full of joy,
Until the darkness starts to destroy,
love and light.
Desolate like the darkest night
When it comes to you, you will not notice
‘Till you’re just too late, and trapped, you begin to feel hopeless
The goal is to make the absolute best of it
Although one may feel more helpless than they admit
Or filled with emotional storms of despair
It simply goes to show, to be cautious if told 'beware'
One's rationale behind for their reasoning to enter
Such a downward spiral within the center of your mind
will start to take effect, the tell tale signs easy to see
They use 'depression' as a crutch, to excuse their bad behavior
or their blantant disregard for the rules we all must follow
Never caring why, or receptive to the possibility
Such mindsets could produce a problem
Didn't
your mommies and our daddies explain, during impressionable youth, that
“The world is an evil place, and we’re all the same inside
Selfish, evil, always deceitful
Don’t even bother with young optimism; it will not change a thing”
Such apathetic attitudes towards negativity that can be easily removed,
Our lives have come to this, a predictable life, with a schedule that doesn't change
How do you defend your bliss?
From dark forces that live to hurt
Like a dementors final kiss
You’ll be left lucid and living, yet so drained and hollow
You’ll pray that somehow death will follow soon after
You must immerse your mind, but just this once, in memories from your past
That one that brings the most feelings of peace
And love, unity,
As well as respect.
Suddenly?
Rise and shine! Fantasy time has ended.
It’s time to wake up,
Because reality is here now, it
is time to get up
Try your best, and don’t forget to remember
The kinds of things you’re to be told:
Open, your conscious, and start the clean and redeem
It’s all over, the time was now. It was just a dream
You got a bit carried away, though, we don’t care, ask why or how
The reason you need to stop this
Self-
Pity
Loathing
Criticizing
Torture
Is to let your life go on
And let life file your growing past into files for use much later
The time is now to wake out of your dream
Hop off the cloud that you created in your head
Instead it’s time for you to choose,
To join the zeitgeist,
It’s up to you
A memory of a memory
An insane obsession over what once was
Instead, think about this
If what goes up, must come down, it’s only a matter of patience, and waiting, before it comes from being down, and goes right back up
Life always gets better if you wait for it
And always learn from,
Accept,
And move on from,
THE PAST
