The spiders sketch their silence into the frozen air while fishes sing sad songs to the moon
And silver blades of grass bend in anguish at the solemn view of a rose that didn't have chance to bloom
The stars are on the verge of becoming snow without sound while a toad follows a dark green road
And a piece of its heart waits patiently on a lily pad that was empty in the afternoon
O dark, dark night
There is never nothing beside you
For eternity's kiss could never be so cruel
Even when clouds do not gather at your window
And the air is motionless at your door
For children warm hearts of sapphires in deep blue while their breath is turned to crystal in the midnight air
And their trembling dreams will live within you
With ivory skin and jet black hair .
