We danced together
I guess she was pretty drunk
I wasn't
A gaity overtook me
I was full of spunk and happy
She was twirling and laughing
Hair spinning out behind her
Her body bumping into me
I couldn't stop smiling
My cheeks hurt from it
Even though I knew
It wasn't really I
She was dancing with
Instead I was merely an event
I moment of one sided intoxication
But it felt good
For that time
The thump of percussion
The pounding beat
And unintelligible lyric
Until the music ended
And she floated over to the bar

I caught several winks from my friends
Those who know my story
Claps on the back
And playful jokes about her looks
And how wiggly she was
A part of me liked it, a lot
Another part just glowed with hope
Knowing that He is in control
And that there is someone out there
for me
No, not her
But I did lift my glass to her
My tumbler of Sweet Water
And sat back down in my chair
