So  wind won't blow you away

Everything is going to be just fine my dear don’t worry the two of us standing side by side hand in hand we have nothing to fear
They put me away for a crime I didn't do but I did the time
There's nothing they can do to hurt us that debt is paid I did 10 longs years of hard labor in the swamps and fields and you worked hard every day as maid
They threw everything they had at us to break us apart but our love was true with roots that went down deep into our hearts
They can't take me away again I'm here to stay I'll be your rock to hold on to so the wind won't blow you away
I know it's been rough for both of us but we did survive now it’s time to put our love into this home to make it look alive
We did what we had to do you keep our love alive and true so now our hearts are strong and healthy because they pump red blood not blue
It is sad that we had to go by their rules and play their game but when the whistle blew we beat them and we now can hold our heads high but still nothing will ever be the same
They can't take me away again I'm here to stay I'll be your rock to hold on to so the wind won't blow you away
Laying here in bed holding you in my arms so tight I can feel your heartbeat with mine every time we go to sleep at night
10 long years I sat in my cell all alone it felt like I was sent straight to hell
I was alive because I kept my memories hidden from sight they kept me from going insane and they kept me warm on cold and rainy nights
They can't take me away again I'm here to stay I'll be your rock to hold on to so the wind won't blow you away
 Inmates were dying of broken hearts they were getting letters from from the girlfriends telling them it was time to break apart
Our love was built on truth and and it was strong it helped me overcome the loneliness of the long nights because we didn't do anything wrong
Whenever I felt overwhelmed and the loneliness begin to take control of my mind
All I had to do was think of you my special someone you took the loneliness away and help me stay true and walk the line
They can't take me away again I'm here to stay I'll be your rock to hold on to so the wind won't blow you away
