My mom was only 21 years old, when she found out about her sickness. She wasn't ready with two kids and one in the way. It has been 13years since my mom can't see or walk that's why nowadays you need to appreciate all the good things and bad things in life there's more to come 
At least I have my mom with me even though sometimes I feel like it was my fault if it wasn't for me my mom would been running or watching a scary movie with my brothers but she cant.
My dad left my mom because he couldn't take it no more but as u know when u get marry you say your gonna be there by there side but he didn't he left her when she most needed him now she's 34 and she still has it but she's happy because she has her family and because she knows that god those his things as his way and he does it for a purpose
