As writers we have the opportunity to do a lot of magic. We can create illusions, we can plant seeds, we can paint pictures, just through our words. We can also dive into places others don't even think of going and bring forward the treasures of our findings. 

When I joined Writer's Outlet three years ago, I chose to use this app as a platform to push myself. I decided I was not going to confirm myself to being just one specific type of writer. I wanted to do it all. And so, I pushed myself to dig deep and expand my creative container just to see how far I can go. Now, looking through the portfolio in my profile, I can smile with gratitude knowing that I had somewhat achieved what I had intended to do here. However, I feel there is still more inside of me which I have not discovered yet as a writer. I feel it's time to once again try something different. 

I have written a number of blogs in here but this one is a little different from all the others I have written. There is a history behind this. Three years ago I wrote a 15 part story in here titled "Jolt", and at that time, it was received quite well by the community. I recently went back to read that story and decided to rewrite it with fresh eyes and fresh intentions. Only this time, it wouldn't be written as a story, but as a blog that will be broken down in parts. 

The reason why I decided to revisit and rewrite this is because the key point of this story is something that matters a lot to me - compassion. This blog is based on a true story about someone whom I have a close and personal relationship with, someone who is dear to me, and he is one of the writers in our community. He is Carl Shuck. 

As humans, we are imperfect. We sometimes react out of our own thoughts and emotions, which would often lead us into making hasty decisions. In the spur of the moment, the choices we make can either make or break us. 

This blog is not meant to belittle or bring shame to anyone involved. It is meant to be an eye-opener, to serve as a motivation to inspire, as well as to invite you to understand the importance of good education and choices. At the same time, it is my hope that when you read Carl's story, you would keep an open mind without putting any judgment in place. 

I spoke to Carl about my desire to share his story here and he has given me his permission and blessings to go ahead with it so, I am writing this with a clear conscience.

However, I would have to put a fair warning here that the details found throughout this whole story may be too gruesome or disturbing to some, but in my defense, I wrote it exactly as how the story was told to me by Carl. Nothing in this story was fabricated or altered in any way, shape or form. Carl wanted his story to be told the way it really happened and I had to honour his wishes simply because it is his life story.
