I didn't know how many storms had hidden my heart
 Until I had to cry, to cry among your wonderful smiles.  

You loved me in a different way,
 I loved you the way I would have wanted to be. 
 I loved you from the beginning, 
You, when the end began.

  I didn't know how much love I had to give,
 Until I gave it even when I had no love left to give to myself.  

I didn't know that love means pain, 
Until I couldn't be with the person I love. 
 I didn't know I would change
 Until I looked in the mirror
 To count the wounds from my breathing.
