The shades of blue
From light to dark blue
Every person I’ve met
If I was happy to meet them or if I fret
All of them go through the shades of blue
From them to you
Some are out of my life
And some of them I still go to when I’m upset in the night
Oh people like you
Are in the spectrum of different shades of blue
Oh whatever you do
You’ll be in my scrapbook of Johnny Cash blues
Get a rhythm in the words you write
Know you won’t have to fight
Once you see the sunrise
Give yourself a break
For as long as you partake
However children you make
However many hearts you break
