Maya didn't believe her eyes.Om was supposed to be in his office.What is he doing here at home at this time of the day.She wondered as she climbed the stairs to reach her bedroom. 
As she pushed the door to open she heard some shuffling sound coming from inside.
And then she heard them before she saw them.
Sonia giggling and Om saying something in his low deep voice.
 
Maya's first instinct was to turn back and run away. Hide somewhere. Shut this out.Block it .As if it was some kind of horrible joke.

But Maya wanted to see with her own eyes.
 To be sure.
Maybe there was a mistake.
She turned the handle and walked inside the room.

"Who is calling?"
"Don't know.Looks like an Indian number"
Raj replied to Maya before picking up the mobile.
"Is that Mr Raj?"
"Yes"
"Mr Raj there is a message for you."
Raj listens to the other side.Maya watches his expressions changing.After sometime he puts the phone down and looks at her directly and says in a low voice.
"He is dying "

Raj is packing his suitcase when Maya walks in with Myra.
Myra is Maya's friends daughter. Maya can't help admiring Raj and Myra.Both look so good together. Both of them are tall,smart and sophisticate.Made for each other.
Maya is not happy about Raj's going to India.
Why now?
Why he wants him now?
After breaking his heart and ignoring him all his life.
She keeps thinking but does not say anything.She is reliving those unhappy memories and it is showing on her once beautiful but now tired face.
Raj understands everything but he is feeling helpless. 
Afterall he is his father. 
Thinking of him on his deathbed makes him feel very sad.He is grateful to Myra to come over to look after Maya and give her company in his absence.

The old wooden door creaks when Raj opens it.He walks towards the maindoor through the small pavement with small gardens on either side.
