He Hides Himself Behind Layers Of Masks Read Count : 149

He told me a secret
A secret you would never tell
Unless you knew the person you told, would keep it
It wasn’t his fault that he was pushed down, and fell
I believe I was the only one of his peers that he told
Something happened to him that made him soulk in his soul
He hides behind layers of masks
But after that
There is no going back
He was just a child
And then he taught himself as a teenager to be wild
His uncle took his innocents
It was at too close of a distance
This little boy was raped
Molested
By an uncle he should have been able to trust in
And now his fathers side of the family never talks to the little boy
Growing up
Used up as a toy
And his parents had a divorce, so he never trusted love
He doesn’t believe anybody is meant to be
Take it from me
A connection like this is once in a lifetime
A tragedy in the smoke and in the mist
I care so much for this person I once called mine
He has a good soul, but he hides because he got hit
By toxic arrows too many to get missed
I loved and cared for the soul behind his personal persona
He tangles himself in high school drama
Smoking cannabis
And selling it
To change his life from what it is
So I am fighting in no mans land
Since he left our heartfelt island
He has so many regrets
And still
He is closed off to what his heart and soul projects
Because in a love fighting about green curtains
He in himself is, and was, always uncertain
Here is to this little boy
Who is still lost out to the side
A crumpled up polaroid
Who never, ever, got to see the white
And golden lights
