I am often deeply troubled by the behavior I see daily. There are many sides to us, yet so many keep their eyes closed to what threat lays before us. How could we not see what it is we do and have done over time? How we affect things which exist around us? This is my story.

Like many others, I did things which I never realize affected the world around me. Whether as a child, I simply stepped on a flower or killed an insect out of pure spite. I never realized or stop to think how this could affect the world around me. Even after watching Ray Bradbury's "Sound of the Thunder". Most people say I was just a child, and we are living in the moment and not in the future. It never dawned on me let the future is always here in the blink of a moment.

I often become troubled what is the state of the world, but never stopped to think for a brief moment of why I was upset. I came to the realization it was because of the way we tag ourselves. You cannot really call yourself pro-life if you support the use of tools of destruction or actions which prevent the existence of a new life. You cannot really call yourself Progressive, if you are not willing to look at new ideas to move forward and stop making the same mistakes made over countless decades. This is just the way it is. You cannot tag yourself as something that you are not. Yet, we have many people who do this every day.

I often stand up for the things that I believe in, but sometimes I don't speak up like I should. We have people who are pointing weapons intending to do harm to people if they don't do what they want. This is coercion, not done out of free will or the acceptance of ideas. This is wrong, and we should make it clear around the United States that anyone wielding weapons who breaks into an office demanding that one of our leaders do something for them should be taken as an act of terrorism.

This is the United States, freedom always comes at a cost, and you have to be willing to accept the cost if you want to claim it. I don't know how many people would agree with me in this sentiment, but I honestly don't care if you agree with me or not. The reason I'm talking about this, is because we Face a new crisis like no other. One that will either lead us into a civil war, or down a new path which we can come to an understanding of why we fight for what we do. It may sound idealistic, but I believe it's possible for us to accomplish this difficult task. People who always have to be willing to sacrifice something for what they love. Because if you're not willing to make a small sacrifice now, there's no telling what you may lose because of it in the future.
