CHILDREN OF LESSER GODS Read Count : 95

Welcome to my country,
We are divided into many tribes,
Or so I thought,
I have come to realise the truth,
We are actually divided into only two tribes,
We have the rich tribe and the poor tribe.

Let me tell you about these two tribes,
In one tribe, you will be celebrated for stealing,
In the other, stealing will be the cause of your death,
The rich tribe has tried to convince the poor tribe that they are equal,
But that is a lie told so many times that I might believe it for truth.

Forgive me if I will sound hateful or judgemental,
We have been taken for fools and I believe that indeed we are fools,
We have celebrated those that have made our lives difficult,
We have worshipped those that steal our children's future,
We have venerated those that have raped and killed our dreams,
And we have fought for those who sold us to slaughter,
Why,because they have made us see ourselves as children of lesser gods.

My poor neighbour steals for survival,
I stone him for trying to make a living
I am not supporting theft, dont get me wrong,
But what do you expect of a man pushed to the corner by hunger,
We are being poisoned physically, emotionally and mentally,
We suffer not because we want to,
But because we are made to suffer,
I think it is as if we were born to suffer.

All animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others,
Not my words but George Orwell said this in his book THE ANIMAL FARM,
That fiction actually is a reality in my country,
A country that sells justice to the highest bidder,
A country that is willing to prosecute you for being poor,
Yes,welcome to my country
Where the safest place of its citizen is actually the citizen's slaughterhouse.

Money is the root of all evils, the Holy book says,
But what if the lack of money was actually the root of all evils,
Thats upto you to decide,
But what I know is that as long as we have this economic tribalism,
The poor will always be treated as the children of lesser gods.
I rest my case.
