A magnificent culture thousands of years old. A glorious history of art -literary and history ripped apart and plundered Filling the greed of the white man. As slaves to be sold. Packed on ships-this chained human cargo traveled thousands of torturous miles. Being beaten- raped thrown overboard at the will of their captors. Entering this country as slaves-perceived by the whites as merely animals- beasts of burden. Their history is tainted with their blood as they were determined to overcome. the variety of cruel in justices they were destined to face. Killing a black man was routinely acceptable. Rarely if ever was the perpetrator -if white held accountable. As the country became more sophisticated laws were enacted to maintain that practice. As we move ahead to 2020 amidst a world- wide killer pandemic -another explosion. In our country is exploding All these types of killings of our Afro-American citizens are horrific But these few stand out because of their nature and  visibility One young woman shot and killed when police broke into her apartment. One jogger chased and murdered by two armed men in broad day light And another while handcuffed -choked to death as the police officer pressed his knee on the man.’s throat as he cried”I can’t breathe” as three other officers looked on The last two killings were videotaped. These incidents seem on the unveil the anguish of years 400 propelling an explosion of anger-disgust and pain by Afro-American communities throughout the country as well other shocked citizens of all back grounds This 400 year disgrace has to end The police-the criminal justice system- elected and appointed officials and our hopefully new President in coordination with Community leaders have to end this cancer. It can no longer be tolerated. Words of the past fall empty on the ears Of our Black -Latino and Native American citizens Action real action must start immediately to be effective. No decent minded American can wait The “Land  of the Free” Must encompass ALL.
