Give me the horn to blow,
To wake the sleeping village, ooh!

Give me the Souna to blow,
An invisible enemy troops approaches.

Give me the Serpent to blow,
To crawl even on rocks without reproaches.

Give me the Cornu to blow,
O, how the corno fortuna glows,
Not cloaking the rosary's,
Gleaming brilliantly side by side.

Give me the Kudu to blow,
While roaming from South to North,
To Settle in the East
And wrest it not.

Give me the Mic to speak,
There is an epidemic
And many I have seen,
On death beds with no vaccine.

Give me wisdom to understand,
To ease the worry
On my people's faces
As some get wiped from from the earth's phase.

Give me a pen and a paper,
To write a poem, not necessarily to earn paper,
But to free the people from the pen.

Give me the ear to hear,
The Sheng blown from the Far East
While in Nairobi's East
"Have no dispair,
The deadly plague is soon to disappear".

Now that I have heard,
Now that I have seen,
Now that the formerly ravaged
Are slowly back to normal,
I know too,
Soon Africa will be.
And I shall ask no more...
