For me there’s no differenceIn sorrows of my abandoned heart orThe joys I experience; And would not distinguishA tear and a smile; For both are reasonable parts of life,While the tears purifies, teachingSecrets and hidden meanings of life,The smile takes me near the sense ofGlorification and boons life gives to enjoy; For both are reasonable parts of life,A tear unites so many broken fragmentsWhile smile decorates them, then; Both save me from the hunger ofUnknown things, instilling love and beautyIn the depths of my soul; For both are reasonable parts of life,I desire not to be satisfiedFor the most satisfied are the mostWretched and miserable in mankind; It’s better to sob and smile in myselfThan to sigh in pain of longing and yearningWhile tears are like sunflower folding petalsWhen the moon approaches,Smile is unfolding of the same at the dawnTo kiss the drops of dews; And now I know life,A tear and a smile;Life like a waterAs vapor it evaporatesAs cloud it returns backFor both are reasonable parts of life,Life is a story of parting and meeting,And would not distinguishA tear and a smile.By: Maroof Pall
