What is the meaning to life? Are they individual and everyone's are varied? Is there a hierarchy of life meanings some more important than others? Or is there no point and the meaning for life is anything? Everything is meaningful wouldn't that pessimistically translate to nothing is?
An unpacking of the difference between "meaning" and "importance" should be made. As an example a person's care and wellbeing for his family is important. Yet I personally don't necessarily believe its the meaning of life. My problem with it is its importance to the majority of the population and its simplicity if it were the absolute meaning for life.
Neurologist and psychiatrist Viktor Frankl developed the theory of Logotherapy. Founded with the belief that the search to find a meaning in life is the most powerful motivating and driving force for mankind. Based on the premise that life has meaning under all circumstances, including the most miserable of them. Enforcing the belief that the primary motivational force for individuals is to find a meaning in their life.
People have complete freedom to find meaning in what they experience in life, or even the stance they take when faced with that situation. The emphasis is on the search for Purpose and the meaning in life's constructs and in doing so create positive psychological functioning. Simultaneously psychologically damaging is present when a persons search for meaning is blocked, either by self-destructive or Environmental factor
A clear comprehension of your personal life's purpose, intentionality directed, contributes to the feeling that life is meaningful. Finding meaning in life frequently has a balanced relationship between good and bad circumstances. Personal well-being and self-derogation or somewhere in the relationship of stress and contentment.
"We can discover this meaning in life in three different ways”
(1) by creating a work or doing a deed:
(2) by experiencing something or encountering someone:
(3) by the attitude one takes toward unavoidable suffering:
"everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms the ability to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances" -Viktor Frankl
Now I simultaneously believe that everything is pointless and there is no meaning, while also ones personal meaning of life could be anything and is vital for maintaining your sanity. The mere search of meaning helps build happiness and contentment within society. Having personal purpose is tremendously powerful in energizing ourselves, almost inherently granting us with the ability to better focus on our goals and the zeroing in on the most beneficial tasks or skills corelated with our purpose and have the most probability of success.
Even if it is true that life is pointless and meaning is nonexistent. I don't see any positive correlation for your life in indulging or festering on such a hugely problematic conundrum on an ideology.
"Happiness doesn’t depend on outward conditions. It depends on inner conditions" - Dale Carnegie
