I feel as though I'm failing,
I feel failing at every turn.
I've lost all motivation,
As I watch the world burn.
I have lost all hope
For better days,
My sense of pride
Has been washed away.
This isn't how it's supposed to be,
They say that I'm still young.
But I feel I'm a grizzled old man,
Whose time is almost done.
Perhaps I'm just succumbing
To the pervasive sands of time.
Putting on a smile
And telling them I'm fine.
My eyes have grown hollow,
There's no spark left inside.
Only the empty vessel,
Whose spirit already died.
