Today is April 10, 2020. This is the latest in my ongoing series my life during COVID-19. In New Jersey, the amount of Coronavirus COVID-19 cases stands at 51,027 and the death toll stands at 1500. This crisis is getting worse by the day and no end in sight. The latest measures being taken are all county and state parks closed, shore towns in cape may county towns of Avalon, Wildwood, North Wildwood, and Wildwood crest say that they are closing their beaches. Bay Head and Mantoloking had previously decided to so. Governor Murphy also decreed that flags at state offices would be lowered to half-mast to honor the victims of this pandemic. Turning attention to sports which usually would be a relief during trying times such as this, there are a few proposals that could get Major League Baseball started soon. One idea is to play all the teams and all the games in Arizona this would be with a robot umpire and no fans in the seats. Another idea is to have a thirty team NCAA march style tournament starting in August. As a long time baseball fan and current season ticket holder, neither idea seems good. We will just have to wait and see. In my life, I am continuing to stay home as recommended by State and local officials only going out for food or to do laundry and to go in the backyard to play with my dog, Munch. He has been a big help to me during this time and I'm blessed to have him as many people are alone. I join local state and federal agencies in urging people to stay home keep a safe distance if you must go out and remember that we are in this together and we will get through this. Until next time bye for now
