As she lay there on the beach with her own blood soaking into the sand around her, she struggled to breathe. She sucked in the air desperately clinging to life begging her heart to beat. Her wounds bled faster every time she shifted her body to ease the excruciating pain. The girls mind began to drift as she thought of the life she lived so carelessly. There wasn't much she could be remembered for and no one would mourn her. What good was it to escape if she was to die now. She tried to recall something of her life BEFORE, but it was just a distant blur. Her parents must think she had been dead for years because it was easier than clinging to hope. Her boss had probably moved on to find his next special girl someone prettier perhaps with soft light hair this time. She reached up and smoothed her hair down she wondered what it must look like now that it was soaked in blood. A strange habit to still carry in her final moments. It had grown dark in the secluded area and as she looked she saw the stars. Every one was visible under the pale whit glow of the moon. Despite the horror of the current event it was a beautiful night. Even more beautiful than she deserved perhaps and yet she lay there looking up at the deep purple shades of night. The incoming tide lapped over her bare feet and soon it would cover her and carry her body away washing away evidence. Quite a clever plan whoever planned it must've thought it out. Her heart was barely above a murmur now losing strength with every ounce of blood it pumped out into the sand staining the shifting earth with the color of sacrifice. Her vision darkened she felt the frigid water up to her torso now. The salt water should sting but she felt nothing but emptiness. She heard footsteps, another illusion of hope and the tide quickly began to recede.
