He couldn’t run faster than he had thought. The footsteps of the vigilante boys increased just behind him. He was gripped by fear; then he dropped the goat and as though it was the only option for him to move more faster. He ran liked a cheater, believing he had beaten the boys. For now he is safe, he said within himself.
…. Oh my God.
What have I put myself into? Of what reason did I push myself into this crazy act. Suddenly j have became a thief?
What would Sony my friend say of me, if peradventure am being  caught  in this act? Oh God almighty, forgive me of my sins, I will never do this again. He prayed.
“No way little one. Don’t you think its too late for such prayer?”… A grave voice said to him, he became frightened again, looking for a way to move ahead, but just in a second aftermath, the vigilante men appeared out of here now. On seeing them, he was at sixes and sevens, left with no option but to face the consequences of his actions without any sense of hope for rescue or mercy, for he had more than a worm’s eye view of what will become of him. For time long, he had heard and seen the deeds of the vigilante group to any one (male/female, young/old) caught in the act he had involved himself in.
He was apprehended by the security group. His hand tied together with a rope extended to the goat. They made him spend the night with them in their post awaiting dawn for them to reveal to the entire people of the village another proof to silent the critics who had said earlier in a town hall meeting that the group has not been effective for the time past, and there would be no reason for the people to keep on wasting there hard earned resources paying them on monthly intervals. The critic once said the group where often asleep to the switch in many occasions where they are supposed to be more alert, regards to the recent criminal activities in the land; pin pointing at the incident that saw the poor Sony Ade robbed of an arm and leg. To the vigilante group, the next morning would be a red letter day where they will appear before the village chief with a proof of their relentless tries to curb crime and criminal activities in the village. While to Andrew Onyesom, his dirty laundry will be aired.
