Stop looking at me like that

Stop touching me

You took my kindness for weakness

And I refuse to be played like a violin

To have you take away my right as a human

To be treated like a doll

Because of you, I have to look out for what I wear

Because of you I can’t seem to trust anybody

You held the gun that killed me

The one that killed my spirit

A piece of me died that day wondering if it was my fault

Did I lead you on somehow?

Did I ask for it?

You kept me hostage in my on mind

With no way to escape and no one to turn to for help

But I refuse to let you win

I refuse to give you all the power

You will not take away my voice

Because of you, because of what you put me through I am stronger

Stronger than what you ever imagined

Stronger than the ropes that made it hard to escape

Because of you I am now able to say I am who I am today
