These pills
This shot
This blunt
Sitting in this dim room
I started off believing
Silence
Would be enough
I rather be numb to these thoughts
It's become clear
This all is just too much
Choosing from
These pills
This shot
This blunt
Momentarily
Temporarily
Forgetting
I'm in a mental fight
I probably should think about it
This alternative isn't right
The thing they speak as "concur"
Yet,
Survival is what I wander for
A battle is the cause of this run
I'm competing
Racing for
These pills
This shot
This blunt
Hearing a sound
A cry
Innocent voice that can't help it's self
Knocks on my door
Wanting entry
Into this dark and dim room
Starring down at my feet
Feet that are firmly placed
Recognizing,
That my body is refusing for me to move
These pills
This shot
This blunt
Allows for it to feel new
Glancing at my image through this screen
Begging myself to find it's sanity
Yet, it only wants to sip
To swallow
To inhale just a taste
Wasted
Uncontrollable
Addiction
I allowed myself to gain
To only wake up confused
Misplaced
In a daze
Still broken
With reality slapping me across the side of my face
Once again
Realizing they've been knocking
Crying
They are in need of my time
Wanting to play
Pulling myself together
As I drop down my shades
Allowing them to serve their purpose
To cover this drugged out
Drunken face
Letting my love for them
My carried shame
Create this smile
This fake expression I wear
Just to match their inner frames
