The world was scorched by a permanent sunburn
And all I could think is that we never got our turn
I’m yearning for the lessons I never learned
Time wasted makes my stomach churn
Can I stay in your arms while we crash and burn?
It’s no secret the planet was ablaze
While I was swept away in your haze
Distracted from the madness by an infatuation craze
Even as we were melting in the hot summer rays
Will you stay in my arms when it’s the end of days?
The earth was scorching mad with permanent sunburn
And we’re paying for the lessons we couldn’t learn
The ruin of the world makes my stomach churn
But isn’t the apocalypse the best time to take another turn?
Stay in each other’s arms while we crash and burn
It’s no secret the world was falling apart
But the only fire I could see was in my heart
So if it truly is time for us to depart
And if in my dreams I found a way to restart
Would you run away with me to Hobart?
