Your love was the piano in Redford

To Build a Home we could live in

Melted melodies in each room of my heart that you entered

Maybe we could create an opus once again

Or maybe you think the piano is a goddamn bore

Your love was like a song

And I just wanted to keep playing my favorite part

Though it never lasted long

The ending always breaks my heart

I don’t want to listen anymore

Your love was the gut-wrenching guitar strung by Explosions

Buzzing through my body lighting every cell on fire

Save me from this short-circuit implosion

I’m stuck on repeat with a cold-hearted liar

So spare me the enchanted folklore

Your love used to be my favorite song

Sing me to sleep, make me weep

It’s almost over so you can quit stringing me along

Let me sleep, let me weep

‘Cause I don’t want to listen to you anymore

  • A very unusual combination of music and metaphors.
