I smile in the mirror In hopes for a moment of optimism. I take a thousand pictures A thousand times to get the shot Where the perfect filter Erases every blemish and mistake. When tears fall They whisper compliments signed to celebrities. I hate every word but read them all Because one day they might be towards me. Its feels like a battleground sometimes And I just want to run and hide. I smile in the mirror Like the entire world is watching So if they ever notice me, They'll see me marching.
