Deeper
Deeper
She screamed
But the deeper he went
The further away he felt 
As if he were going the wrong direction
Or using the wrong avenue 
Or maybe something was wrong
With her


So she tried again
And again
Hoping maybe he’ll finally 
be able to reach deep
Enough to satisfy her


But he felt short


Then she realized 
He couldn’t reach where 
She ached to be touch
He couldn’t get deep enough 
To reach her soul
