Screaming in my head, as I'm sitting in the dark,
As if I'm being eaten,
by a big grey shark. 
Really it's just my demons, raping my thoughts to no end
The only thing they seem to do, 
is just transcend. 
Remember this, and remember that?
That's what they say. 
Over and over, each passing day.

Remember when your dad would beat your mom and then turn to you?
Remember how he would beat you until you were black and blue?
Remember when he'd tell you to get the belt?
Remember how you felt you were in hell?


Remember when that big bad man,
 stole your purity? 
Remember how after that, you had no security? 
Remember when no one believed you, and said you were a lie?
Remember how you just wanted to suddenly die? 

Remember when you took your first hit?
Remember how it made you commit?
Commit to it, every single day?
Remember how it made you feel better? At least that's what you'd say.

Remember when you lost your child? 
Remember how it was because you were wild? 
Remember the look on his face,
 because he was jerked out of your place?
Yeah you remember, 
It was September.

Remember when you tried to kill yourself? 
Remember how you left a letter on the shelf? 
Remember thinking it would be better this way?
Better if you never saw another day?
Remember how you couldn't even get that right? 
Remember? You woke up that same night. 

Remember when you got pregnant, not that third time, but after that?
Remember how your world fell flat? 
Remember how you knew you couldn't have him, but wanted to take a chance?
Remember when those doctors decided to take a stance?
They said it was you or him, and you chose him.
 You knew there was a chance, although it was slim. 
Remember they didn't listen, and drugged you anyway? 
Remember how you fell asleep and they took you away? 
Remember coming back, and feeling very bare?
Yeah that's because they took him, and didn't even care. 

All these things, plus even more,
is the reason why you hurt to your core.
We're here to do our job and remind you every day. 
There's nothing you can do, or even say.
