For so long now
I have been looking behind me
Fighting and straining 
To keep what defined me

Holding so tightly 
To all that i knew
Strangling my memories
To keep me amused

Lost in the past 
On those dark roads
Asking why i cant move on
My head just explodes

The tears they fall
Yearning For whats familiar
My life playing in recall
Time moves but im still here

What holds me back
What is it i fear
Sometimes i feel trapped
And sometimes like the end is near

A stranger in the present
Lacking a future
A moons solo crescent
A torn open suture 

I must accept all that i dont know
 trust in the moment 
And find a new path to follow
All thats left is the first step to take

Must find acceptance before its too late
Open my mind to a new side of life
And look forward to living without all old strife

This is A chance to create a new me 
A me that People look and see differently 
Although i still carry all that ive come to know
It gives me a  special strength
 that others may never grow
A silent warrior resting at peace
With newly softened edges 
I have now found release
