How do you fight what you cannot see?

How do you do battle against feelings?

I carry the weight of crushing depression,

Overthinking has become an obsession.

Trying to keep old dreams alive,

Clinging to them just to survive.

This oozing blackness inside my head,

Comes pouring out in waves of dread.

I've fought this battle oh so long.

How much longer before I am gone?

Only fragments of innocence are left,

Crushed into dust as I get closer to death.

The time has come to be my own savior,

To find a way to change this behavior.

To break the chains of misery,

To stand up and truly be free.

Fine art. I could feel myself in your voice.
