One step closer,
     Teetering on the edge.
One step closer,
     Between living and dead.
One step closer,
     I'm about to scream.
One step closer,
     To forgetting the dream.
One step
     Two step
          Three step
               Four.  
Give it all up and head for the door.
One step closer,
     To seeing the end.
One step closer,
     I'm done making amends.
