Darkness is now in control 
A perfect time to search my soul 
The darker it becomes the better I can see
The light that shines within has all my history 

The sounds of silence heard 
Unwraps a mystery 
With every shining word
The truth is plain to see

I plow through memories past
Long ago forgetten 
Life’s contradictions appear 
With issues grand and rotten 

I can’t escape the truth 
What I see is clearly real  
Goes as far back as my roots
The spokes on my life’s wheel 

The darkness starts to fade
My escaped is done 
As the daylight takes its turn
I’ll see better in the sun
