In spite of Trump administration contention that there is nothing to be concerned about from the campaign's contacts with Sergey Kislyak, Russian Ambassador and lead spy Chief, there is. It's requires a hugh stretch to agree that high level contact between a candidate's campaign staff and foreign intelligence operatives is somehow business as usual. They argue that Flynn, Sessions and Kushner were simply doing due dilligence. Really? When has this ever happened before with one of our key geopolitical adversaries? Especially when said adversary was known to be actively engaged in a campaign to influence our election. Trump himself famously said, "Russia, if you are listening, I hope you find her emails". For the sake of argument, let's agree to give a pass to this high level Trump/Russian liason and move on to a more disturbing reality. During the Republican convention in Cleveland, it is now confirmed that two low level Trump campaign operatives, J.D. Gordon & Carter Page, both Trump team national security advisors, had a meeting with Sergey Kislyak. What purpose could these two possibly have to meet with this Russian spy master? What did they discuss? If these meetings don't raise the level of concern of the Republican congressional leadership and motivate them to call for a Special, independent non-partisan investigation, what will? Our national security has likely been compromised and we need to know the details. This is not politics, just common sense.
