A word so simple yet hideous
It’s implications incidious
Man’s ultimately injustice to man
Flowing like molten lava
Since time began
Men with conscience-with honor -with
morals
Enslaved people with who they had no
quarrels
Their code of honor washed away  with the blood of their horror
My country-the land I love
Is not immune to the words  above
With so much to build on and so much
to give
We denied good people their right to live
Their glorious history thousands years
old
Taken from their homeland and brutally
sold
My country with magic in their “Declaration “
Wears the cloke and the shame of a beautiful nation
The result of this action a permanent
stain
Is written in history with a tragic refrain
Those shipped like cattle across the sea
Their children and their children still fight to be free
It’s been too long in coming - it hasn’t
come yet
Like other world horrors we should never forget
My country’s history is galant and proud
Recognizing injustice and expressing
out loud
The time for” together “is not yet done
People still fighting to get their rights won
The pride back in my country when we call it ONE
