Summer had just ended in small little town Sweet Bridge. We had entered into September and like every year , school is starting for many.

Avery had just spent the weekend with friends and family celebrating her 17th birthday , about to go into her final year of high school and then college would follow soon after .
Avery just about had it all for a 17 year old, a nice family , tons of friends , a decent part time job a couple days a week and a car to transport her back and forth wherever need be.
Wherever Avery had went , she had made a friend . And the ones that weren't fond of her , had been jealous of young Avery... Tall , slender , long wavy Auburn hair and deep emerald green eyes with fair skin ..Definitely a sight for sore eyes . Avery had been like most young girls at her school; she had plans on trying out for the cheerleading squad for her senior year and really wanted to apply herself in her studies and extra curriculars .
There had been cute boys in and around school and acquaintances in the past months but none that had really turned Avery's head . Avery had dedicated herself to making her last school year really count and prided herself in being responsible and mature .. There was no time for foolishness.

That was , until school had finally began.
There were a couple new students that have transfered from different locations .. One in particular catching Avery's eye .
Wilson . Wilson was an 18 year old troublesome teen , finding faults in most places he had went . He had moved to Sweet Bridge with his grandmother from a different town he was finding problems in .
His grandmother told him they would start fresh in another, quiet town .. Wilson's grandmother had grown up in Sweet Bridge until her early teens when she had moved with her parents because her father was in the Army and they had to relocate... What better than to return to the old , comfy town of Sweet Bridge ? Maybe reunite with old faces and rekindle relationships.

Wilson had been walking down the hall looking for his right assigned classroom but was having trouble finding the right room .
Avery had came out of the girls restroom and had seen Wilson having trouble , Avery had offered Wilson some help and had introduced herself to Wilson .

"Hi , I'm Avery Banks , I'm a senior , are you new here ?" Asked Avery .
"Uh yeah , I just transfered here from out of town . I'm already late finding my class " said Wilson .
Avery had been checking Wilson out ever since she came out of the restroom and was looking for an excuse to talk to Wilson .

"Well , I think I can help . I've been going here my whole high school experience ... But can I get your name first ?" Avery had asked .

" Yeahhh , my name is Wilson . Wilson Brunt , If you could show me room #243 that would be cool "
" Okay Wilson ! Follow me , I'll show you "

Avery had smiled at Wilson , Wilson had grinned back at Avery and Avery had blushed completely in the face . Aware of how red she must have been turning because she could feel butterflies already from Wilson , she had turned her face downwards from Wilson and lead the way to room #243.

" Here it is , room #243 . Goodluck , enjoy your first day of school " smiled Avery .

Once again , Wilson had grinned and walked off from Avery , into his rightful classroom.

It's 12 pm , and the bell strikes . It's lunch time.
Wilson had found his way into the cafeteria after low-key following some classmates .
Avery had been in line for her tray of lunch and made her way over to an empty table in the corner , hoping Wilson would notice her and the empty seats and walk over to enjoy lunch together .

Wilson had noticed Avery sitting alone , but had been hesitant to sit with Avery . Wilson was a shy kid , he thought Avery had the most beautiful smile and thought sitting alone with her would just be too much to handle on the first day and did not want to make a fool of himself by studdering or lack of conversation so he had sat with a couple other guys from his class .

Avery noticed Wilson sitting with his classmates and was bummed out , not having gotten what she planned for , her friends had noticed her sitting alone at a table and had joined her .

Avery's classmate Larissa had asked Avery " Why the long face , A?"
Avery had responded with " Nothing ... Nothing at all " and they had continued eating making small chat until lunch was over and school was ready to continue .

School finishes a couple hours later and Avery is walking outside carrying her book bag to her black 2005 Honda . Wilson had rushed outside and had missed the bus to transport teens to the nearest stop to go home , and had noticed Avery opening her car door ... An idea had popped in Wilson's head .

" Hey! Banks ! Wait up a sec. "
"Oh hey . What's going on ?" Replied Avery
" Nothing.. just missed the bus.. do you think you can do me another favor and maybe take me home ? I only live like 10-15 mins from here" Wilson had asked

" I guess , get in ." Responded Avery ; still feeling ill about lunch in the cafeteria , but putting her pride and feelings aside to do Wilson yet another favor . Who knows , maybe it'll pay off Avery had thought.

Avery had taken directions from Wilson on his way home . She had pulled up to a little grey house on a dead end street .

The house had looked abandoned at some point . There were a couple boards on the attic windows , the grass was very tall and the porch hadn't been painted in a very long time . The white paint had been chipping off of it for a while .

"Wow, this is where you stay ,huh ?" Asked Avery
"Yeah....for now... Thanks for the ride" responded Wilson
Wilson had gotten out of the car and had never looked back at Avery , he just had kept walking towards his house.

Wilson had been a little embarrassed on his living situation but he and his grandmother had just moved and were on a strict budget on account that she was elderly with limited income and he hadn't found a job yet .

Avery couldn't believe how Wilson was acting towards her .. Cold...Un-Interested .. Stand off-ish . She had been used to receiving happy welcomes and warm smiles.. Which was not the case with Wilson .. But she had been attracted to Wilson anyway and couldn't quite figure out why ... Was it his 5'8 185 pound fasigue ? His sun kissed tan skin ? His greased back  black gel hair-do , or his bright blue eyes ?
Maybe it was everything for Avery.
He was out of the norm for Avery , and yet , she loved it .

More days had passed by and not much has changed between Avery & Wilson until one day Avery walked up to Wilson who had been sitting up against the school building smoking a cigarette ..

" Smoking kills " said Avery
" Yeah? , kill me then " replied Wilson
Wilson had chuckled after that smart remark , Avery had flushed in the face and had walked off away from Wilson .

No one has talked to Avery quite like Wilson has , and all the more reason for Avery to like Wilson ... It was something different .

Avery had been driving home from school the next day and had seen Wilson walking carrying all of his books because he had not had a big enough book bag to store them in ; Avery had pulled over and asked Wilson if he needed a ride .

" Hey , dude , get in . I'll take you home . Need a ride ?"  Asked Avery
"Nah , I'll get there sooner or later but thanks " replied Wilson
" Come onnnn , get in , I don't bite " smiled Avery
Wilson had gotten into Avery's car and sat all of his books in the back seat . Wilson's science book had dropped under the passenger seat of the car and he had forgotten about it as he left Averys car to go inside his house.

It was Friday evening and Avery  had noticed Wilson's science book in the back of her car and knew he would need it before Monday so she had took it upon herself to deliver the science book to Wilson's house .

She had made the drive to Wilson's house and knocked on the door , Wilson's grandmother had answered the door .
"Hello ? What can I do ya for ?" Asked grandma Brunt
" Oh Hi , I had given Wilson a ride home earlier and he left a book in my car so I'm returning it to him "
" Well isn't that sweet. Wilson isn't here right now.. he's not home alone , he's always out and about but I'll sit it beside his bedroom door and he will grab it when he returns home " replied grandma Brunt
" Oh....ok then" Said Avery .

A bit disappointed Avery was , hoping she would have seen Wilson .
Walking off the porch , Wilson had been dropped off by a friend from the old town he had lived in ; a troublesome friend .
The troublesome friend had sped off after returning Wilson .

Wilson stopped right in his tracks
"Avery ? What are you doing here ?" Wilson asked , with a serious face .
"You left your science book in my car ... I wanted to return it to you before Monday . We are having a pop quiz " replied Avery .
"Oh thanks ."  Wilson Walked up to the porch grinning at Avery . Avery's face had turned all red and she had lowered her head , hoping Wilson hadn't noticed the color in her face turn all red and pink .

" Why are you blushing ?" Asked Avery
" Well...because I like you ...alot.. " responded Avery .
"Don't ... I'm nothing but trouble...trouble that you don't need " replied Wilson

Avery looked confused . And was disappointed in what Wilson had to say , she had just walked away from Wilson and returned to her car to go home .

That night Avery had been laying in her canopy princess bed and was thinking why Wilson would say such a thing ... And no better way to ask than to give Wilson a call. Avery had looked Wilson up on social media and Wilson had his cellular linked to his social media account .

*Ring ring*
"Hello?" Said Wilson
"Heyyyy.....it's Avery...I found your number online ..hope you don't mind " replied Avery
" Um... That's different. What's up ?"
" I called you and wanted to know why you would say something of those sorts earlier " asked Avery
" Because. It's the truth. I bring chaos to everyone I know. I know right from wrong. And I still choose to do wrong because it's who I am and it's how I was raised . Is that a good enough answer for you ? " Said Wilson
" Wow .. wasn't expecting that... But I stand behind what I told you earlier... I really like you and want to get to know you ... You're different ... Not like anyone I have met before " said Avery
" I can tell. I'm not part of your normal clique at school. I stand out. " Said Wilson

And Avery agreed... Not only because of the crowd Wilson had gotten into ..Not because of his like for smoking cigarettes on school property .. Not even for his ripped jeans , buckled boots and jean jacket ... Just simply , because he was Wilson . Maybe it was the dark hair and bright eyes Avery adored so much . The way Wilson would walk by and Avery would smell the Axe he had showered previously with . Or the hair gel she could smell lathered into his dark black hair .
Wilson had an incredible smile . A Wide smile with white teeth aligned perfectly with a dimple in his right cheek, and boy did Avery notice.
Avery noticed all of the details , even the little ones , about Wilson.

That phone call had turned into many phone calls at night before bed . Laughter and sarcasm all in one . The bond between Avery and Wilson had really formed into something special.

Avery and Wilson would hold hands in the hall and turn heads everywhere they went. Avery's parents did not approve of Wilson .
Avery's parents felt Avery was too good to be with Wilson and Wilson could offer nothing to their precious little daughter .
And Avery knew , but did not care . The way Wilson made Avery's heart flutter , took anyway any harsh opinions or judgement Avery's parents had ... Or it had shielded Avery from them.

Either or , it didn't really matter to Avery .

It was the night before Halloween , and Wilson's friends from out of town and from school had rallied together for some sort of plan to break into one of the fellow wealthier neighbors homes and take as much as they could hold to pawn the next day for some extra cash.
Wilson knew that it wasn't right , and it could have severe consequences , but had chosen to go along with the ride .. Nothing is free in life , everything costs something , and still no job , one needs to make some money . That is all Wilson was telling himself to get him through this mission they had planned.

It was 11 pm and the wealthier neighbor had went to sleep already . Wilson and his friends had been staking out the house since 930 and finally seen the lights go out in the house and figures it was time to move in on the house .
Wilson had walked around the house slowly and carefully not to make any loud sounds to cause alarm to others , and he had found a basement window unlocked.
" Pssst. Guys. Look . This window is open , c'mon" whispered Wilson . Wilson had a tiny little flashlight to guide them .

They had slid carefully through the basement window and made their way upstairs into the wealthier man's house . Had found nothing really valuable until they reached his bedroom.
Problem was , the man was asleep in his room. .. Wilson's friend had the guts to walk inside the room with the flashlight and grab an old white see through  jewelry box that had golden chains hanging from inside of it and had stumbled his foot into the edge of the man's bed .
The man had awaken in shock that 3 yound boys were in his house and in his bedroom and had grabbed the phone next to his bedroom and immediately dialed 911 and had been yelling out of fear .
The boys had taken off down the stairs and dropped the flashlight and Wilson had fallen over an end table , it was pitch black in the house because the lights were turnt off and the boys weren't familiar with the house set up and didn't have time to look for light  switches on the walls .

Before Wilson could make it down the street , two police vehicles had arrived , one on each end of the Street and had taken Wilson and his buddies in to the joint

Avery had went to school for about a week wondering where Wilson had been .. she hasn't seen him or had spoken to him in over a week...what's going on ? She wondered.
Her curiousity got the best of her and she had driven over to Wilson's Grandma's house to ask.

*Knock knock*
* The door opens * " Well hello dear how are you ?" Said grandma Brunt
" Hello , I'm ok. Haven't seen Wilson in a little while. Was wondering what happened ? Why hasn't he been in school ?" Asked worried Avery

" Oh dear... You haven't heard..Wilson had gotten in trouble with a couple buddies , and he's in jail right now.. we have a hearing in a couple days but until then that's where he is. I prefer not to fish out details I will leave that up to him honey if that's ok " said grandma Brunt

Avery was completely worried something terrible had happened to her newly boyfriend Wilson .

Wilson had finally went back to school a couple weeks later .
Avery had seen Wilson walking out of school and had stopped him
" Hey...you go to jail and get out and don't even speak to me ?" Angrily said Avery
" I told you I'm no good...it's best for everyone if you keep your distance " replied Wilson .
Wilson had put his head down in shame and had kept walking .

Wilson had been walking home and Avery had followed Wilson on foot , following behind him
" Why can't you just talk to me ? What did you do ?????" Asked Avery
" I robbed my neighbors house.. is that what you wanted to hear ??? Are you happy ?"
Avery had stopped right in her tracks , with nothing to say. Avery had the most uncertain face and her heart had stopped right in that second

"We've been talking for two months now.. you can't just disappear from my life now , I won't have it " shouted Avery
" I don't know what to do" said Wilson
" Just stick with me and I'll stick with you. We can make this work. You don't need to do the shit that you do " said Avery
" Did you just cuss ???" Wilson was stunned
" Yeah so what. There's a time and place for everything " said Avery
" Come here " Wilson demanded

Avery and Wilson had hugged and Wilson had missed Avery like she had never been kissed before . So many emotions pouring into that kiss . A kiss that says , I miss you .. I want you . I love you
Wilson had stopped for a second and looked into Avery's deep green eyes and the world had stopped for those few seconds . Nothing could have ruined that moment . It was just them , the only two people on Earth and time had stopped just for them.
The sweet watermelon lip glossed Avery's lips up against the soft lips that had a hint of tobacco  . Time had stood still

That's what it had felt like to young Avery .

Avery had returned home after being gone longer than expected , Avery's parents were livid.
" Where have you been ? With that criminal ?" Shouted Avery's Father
" Don't talk about him like that daddy , he's special to me !" Screamed Avery
" I don't want you to see him nor waste another minute on that boy , you're going to waste your life on him and he cannot offer you what youre going to want in life. You may not see it now but in time you will and it will be too late , Avery !" Said Avery's mother

Avery had rushed to her room full of emotions .
She had needed a little break from the world and the only release she could find would to be in Wilson's arms once more but that couldn't happen at that time so Avery had spent the rest of the night shuttled in her room with her phone and lights off .

Wilson had been trying to get ahold of Avery , Wilson had to one friend imparticular that he wouldn't participate in the activities they had previously been in ...Non lawful activities.
They had gotten into a fight and things had turned worse for worse. Wilson had given his ex-friend a broken nose and split lip , another friend had jumped in the mix and had given Wilson a right hook , Wilson had fallen to the floor and hit his head on the metal heater vent sticking out . Blood has flourished out of Wilson's skull rather quickly. The boy wilson had been fighting grabbed him and dragged him out to his car to take him to the hospital .

Wilson had passed later at the hospital from trauma to the skull.

A couple days later , haven't heard fromwilson , Avery had driven to Wilson's grandmother's house asking about Wilson once more.

" Oh honey.....I'm so sorry .... So so sorry " tears flowing from Grandma Brunts eyes

" No......how....why ..where...who??? How did this happen " it pained Avery to say

Avery was crying and had fallen right on the kitchen floor of grandma Brunts house .
Grandma Brunt had sat beside her and held her and they both had sat there in minutes feeling like hours , and just cried and cried.

A week has passed by and Avery had gone to the grave site to place a red rose right on Wilson's grave . She didn't make it to the funeral , she couldn't of taken it . She's been trying to keep it together and it had all just fallen apart on her .

Avery would spend the next month visiting the cemetery of Sweet Bridge . Wilson's burial had been right under an oak tree in Sweet Bridge Cemetery . Avery would sit under the tree every week and would talk to Wilson like he was right beside her .
She had longed for his touch and his kiss....Even just for a conversation..

Avery had spent her remaining senior year visiting Wilson's grave site leaving red roses on the tombstone of her first love .
