This plant

Do you see it?

Of course you don’t; this is a poem

Not a picture.

Let me describe it by describing the scene:

The walls are a dark red,

The room is dimly lit with orange lights that fight the darkness for space

The room is filled with people chatting idly about global pollution (it’s the new trend, finally)

Couples stare into each other’s eyes

While some sit alone, brooding.

In the corner on the red wall

Is this succulent plant

Surrounded by a cage

Caught in a clay prison

And filled with old water.

I like this plant.
