Riding the last train
Singing my last refrain
It’s been one hell of a ride
Now waiting for fate to decide

Hoping there are many more stops
With less downs and more ups
Thinking ahead while looking back
Many miles covered on life’s track

Basically it’s been a great trip
With more of the good wine to sip
Still-some of the taste has been bitter
Struggling through life’s stormy weather

Do I look back with smile or a tear
Thinking how did I handle the fear
Did l get through pain’s nights
Winning most of those fights
The proof is the fact I’m still here

Do I count all my scars or look up to the stars
To judge if my life would be better
If  I changed a past plan
Should have stopped when I ran
You simply cannot change bad weather

One thing that I’ve learned with experience earned
Even if I could change direction
How do I know by changing the show
I would have made a better selection

The truth is quite clear as my last stop draws near
That once you’ve made your decision
You did try your best to deal with life’s
test
There’s no point in strong self-derision

I still have the miles to travel in style
And take what I’ve done in stride
Be proud of my life-my mistakes I don’t
hide
And I’ll happily ride toward the sun

  • You've had quite a ride, seen many passengers get down while you carry on your journey. Some get off the train much too soon for reasons unknown, while some like you, stays on passing stop after stop. Enjoy the ride while you can and make the most of it.
