The Perfection Direction Read Count : 74

As time go by each day I try
To glean some pleasantries
When it doesn’t work I understand
And settle for something to please

I know on even my best day
Perfection is rarely achieved
But if pleasure that day is strong enough
I’m grateful for what’s been received

Today was a day to remember
Fate shown brightly all day
I basked in the warmth that enveloped
Hoping that feeling would stay

But as we all know life is changeable
But these memories fortify defense
When the direction is dark and stormy
I’m ready to use common sense

The good experiences are gratifying
The knowledge they’ll return does exist
It’s given me tools to face challenges
To return to the joy that I’ve missed
