"Hisu please, don't do this. I'm begging you, your power is beautiful, don't listen to what they tell you, your going to be the best hero, don't let these punks get into your head, okay?" Fear erupted on Siraji's face, I had never threatened to use my ability on anyone before, I guess I had hit my breaking point. The black leather gloves that I wear so I don't accidentally hurt anyone were tossed aside on the gravel about 5 feet away, I knew Siraji couldn't get to them in time, but I also knew he wouldn't let his idiot classmates die just because they were picking on me. Siraji was the only one who knows what my ability was, if the others knew they would call me a villain, it isn't my fault.

"Get lost!" I yelled, masking the fear in my voice. If i touched them i could kill them as easily as I wanted, but I couldn't risk it. Maybe i can scare them off, or-or Siraji can help, but they're 11th graders and we're only in 9th they're abilities are higher developed than ours.
My thought process was interrupted by the two kids taunting, "And what if we don't huh? What are you and your puny little friend gonna do about it?" The two 11th graders looked at each other and smirked, right before one turned his arm into a huge hammer, and the other ran at us full speed, well full superspeed through the alley straight for us, more specifically, for me.
"Hisu, don't do it, you will be okay, just don't touch him."Fire burst from Siraji's hands, he was ready to fight, but It was too late, the boy came hurtling at me too fast to see. My instincts took over and I flung my arms up in front of me in defense, he slammed into me so hard I fell to the ground.
When I woke up I was lying in a hospital bed, with the worst headache of my life, i guess i hit my head pretty hard, I must have passed out. Siraji was sitting in a chair to my right, he was asleep, his head lay on the edge of the bed. What time was it, where are those other kids. Did I touch the one! Wait where are my gloves! I started to hyperventilate, luckily Siraji woke up and calmed me down. I panted, "Is the guy okay? Did I hurt him? What happened?"
"Hey, hey! Calm down." I soothed my breathing while he continued. "The kid who stayed behind ran off when his friend ran into you-"
"No!" I cried, too overwhelmed with all the scenes racing through my head to realize I had just cut him off.
"Hisu, stop, and let me finish, okay? Please, it's hard as is." By the look on his face, I knew I had done something terrible.
"Okay." I was trembling. Siraji grabbed my shoulders and said with grief,
"Th-the kid who fell on you, uh-you-uh, you kinda touched him when you were defending yourself, and-uh, since you hit your head and passed out, you-uh couldn't move, and-uh, neither could he. You sent so much venom through his veins, i tried to move him, but-uh, i was too late. I'm so sorry Hisu, I promise it's not your fault." At this point I was trying so hard not to break down in his arms, but it was inevitable. I collapsed in his lap balling, without thinking he grabbed by hands. It took me a little bit to realize what had just happened. By then he was already paralyzed, I was now freaking out about what to do, this had never happened before, at least not while I was conscious. I screamed for help and a couple nurses came rushing in, confused and terrified at what was in front of them. Two fifteen year old boys sitting on the bed, one crying out of control and the other, frozen, not moving, his eyes pure white.
"What happened?" One of the nurses questioned as others attempted to tend to Siraji.
Still visibly trembling I sputtered, "uh-i-umm he-i it was an accident." the nurse went to take my hand and jumped back like she was a monster. I knew she didn't understand, but I couldn't tell her and in that moment, that's all I could say.
After around an hour of talking to me and calming me down I finally told the nurse, "So my ability can be harmful to others if I use it for more than ten seconds, I was upset about something and didn't have my gloves on, and i guess we both forgot because when he grabbed my hands i didn't realize what had happened until he wasn't moving." I began to cry again and the nurse abruptly asked,
"So is he..?" She moved a foot away relatively fast.
"No-well, i don't know, i really hope not. Do you really think he's dead it was only about twelve seconds? Are you sure?" I was freaking out again, and the nurse was too scared that i might have possibly killed my best friend, she just stood up and left. Left me there alone to cry and worry that I may have killed him.
Another hour passed and I was still in the same spot thinking about all the mistakes I made, and what my dad would think when I told him, if I told him, when a different nurse approached me.
"Hi, sorry to bother you, but is it possible for you to give us your friends name please. If not-uh it's not a big deal, all up to you-he." This nurse seemed skittish, she stood a good four feet away from me when asking the question.
"Um-yeah sure, no problem." I sniffled, did the other nurse tell her about my ability? Are they scared of me? "Um his name is Siraji Tetsuko."
"Okay thank you, and your name is...?"
"Why do you need my name, am-am i in trouble, i told the other nurse it was an accident, i didn't mean too, just like with the other kid, it wasn't my fault, i promise!!" The nurse was backing away just like the other one, she looked scared, scared of... me. "No-no please don't leave, I promise I'm not going to hurt you, whatever she said, it's a lie." I yelled after her as she practically ran down the hallway, "Please i'll tell you my name!" Nothing, no response, just the lonely hospital hall.
I cried myself to sleep that night on a hospital bench outside of Siraji's room, my arms wrapped around me, hoping I wouldn't hurt anyone else, awake or not.
In the morning I woke to the sound of Siraji yelling. I jumped up and bolted into his room where he was hobbling towards the doorway. His face lit up when he saw me. Whereas all three nurses in the room who where trying to corral him jumped to the back of the room as fast as possible. I ran over to him and before I could say anything he was hugging me. I stood there for a while with my hands in the air, not wanting to relive that nightmare again. He looked at me confused at first, then said,
"Oh right, your gloves. I can take you to where you left them. I didn't really have time to grab them, you know, because of all that was happening."
"Its okay," My eyes were tearing up,"I was an emotional wreck without you, you know. And who cares about my dumb gloves i can always get new ones." I sighed, "Im so happy to have you back Siraji Tetsuko." I smiled while tears streamed down my cheeks.
"And I'm happy to be back Hisu Shutomo."
