The Music Never Stops Read Count : 126

I began listening to music in the forties
Regularly through now and still do
I thought I’d be current with the new sounds
But the music ahead of me flew

It’s not that I don’t love music
Next to writing it tops my list
But I’m ingrained to the early two thousands
The new sounds are something I missed

I really appreciate current music
The singers and sounds tell the tale
Of the culture -the new rising talent
But my connection to that is more frail

Music evokes so much pleasure
Memories and recall of great times
In every generation it is the same
They cherish all the music that they can name

From the Big Bands- Folk and Rock
Used to sing and dance around the
clock
Joan Baez- Neil Diamond- The Eagles to
name a few
It is no mystery-it’s part of my personal history

As each life progresses with age
Each one connects with their stage
Transforming the sounds that they play
Capturing the events of their day

Music is the same as writing
Both melodic and exciting
Driven by the need to express
Their creative way to happiness
