It’s the start of our daily routine 
Preparing us for the day
Whether for going to work
Whether for going to school
It’s our appearance -essential tool

Check your hair -check your eyes 
Apply the makeup-trim your “sides “
Check your mustache -ready to go
On your way to steal the show 

There’s another way it can work for you
If you want to dig deeper than that outside view 
Look in your mirror -see what you see
Beyond the superficial view -to find the inside deeper you

Who is this person staring back?
WHO do you see -not WHAT you see
Defines just who you are-your hidden personality 
Your dreams-your loves - your fears
Your actual reality for you -can now appear 

The issues that bring happiness 
And the one’s not wished to face
You hesitate to focus on
 Causing feelings of disgrace 

This inner look is complicated
To think what is revealed 
But without the insight of who you are
Key issues are consealed 

Not everyone can take that look 
It’s a tougher way to go
But it’s a vital way to enhance your life
To know what you should know
