I once trusted the mirror,
but the mirror somehow lied,
it made me think that all I'm worth
can only be seen from the outside.
I once trusted the mirror,
but it only showed what's skin deep,
I can't see how my eyelids flutter
when I'm drifting off to sleep.
It doesn't show what the world sees
when I'm only being me,
or how my eyes light up,
when I'm lost in a moment of glee.
It doesn't capture my emotions
where no one else can see,
and the mirror can't tell everything,
not everything that's within me.
Now I don't trust the mirror,
for it only shows my skin,
it doesn't dictate my worth,
or all that I am within.

You do very well without the mirror with your insight-self evaluation-honesty- intelligence and your magnificent gift of writing 🦋There are other ways to look into the mirror by that’s for another time ❤️🦋🦋🦋🦋
