I had that weird dream, where I lived with my (now late) father. He was a businessman and he looked very young. I recently found his photo from his student ID and his in-dream appearance was exactly that. Anyway, I didn't see much of him in the dream. As soon as I got up, I grabbed a pencil and drew a quick sketch of what I have seen... This is what I remembered from my dream What I knew was that my father purchased that huge art-deco building. The building was situated in weird place. It was a plot on the side of American-desert-looking motorway. There were other buildings (not sure whether they were shops or other businesses) alongside the road and there was not greenery anywhere. It was quite empty landscape, yet it didn't feel sad nor unpleasant... I quite liked it there. The building itself was huge and of distinctive structure. Built of large, grey bricks, it featured a cylindrical centre with sort of cubical sides attached symmetrically to both sides of it. From the back, there was a long colonnade shading an entrance to a huge supermarket, which belonged to us (me and my father). Strangely, I knew that there were only the two of us and there was no other family that I would consider missing from the picture. I didn't go inside but I saw people shopping and somehow I had a feeling that it is a sort of "Cash & Carry" place. I dealt with some people, who seemed to be a maintenance team and I was ordering them around but I wasn't harsh on them. I was very firm but they seemed to be used to it and we were all very kind to each other. I noticed that some of them were my old friends from primary school, looking incredibly young. I've noticed that the roads were made of a very smooth asphalt, very well maintained. There were fields at the back of the building. I remember being very happy that I will be able to ride a bike. I was running around the building, very proud, and I was telling everyone that we are the new owners now. I noticed that when I mentioned that, people were making strange face expressions. There was a girl riding a bike there and I wanted her to be my friend. I told her that we bought the place and I asked her what is it about the house that other won't tell? She told me that the house is haunted but I didn't really mind that, in fact, I was quite happy about it. Then suddenly I found myself on the first floor. It was a huge flat with enormous rooms. They were generally empty, like we have just started moving in. There were, however, beautiful built-in furniture and shelving. The wood was very dark, almost black, with a wine red shine of it. Well maintained and highly polished, the style matched the art-deco style of the building. The floors were lovely, wooden parquets laid into mosaics... At some point, some people started laying the floors with some old rugs. They must have been lovely, Persian rugs, when new, but now they were worn out and ugly. I ordered for them to be taken away, as I didn't like them. Generally though, I was in love with the accommodation. The rooms were really big and there was plenty of space to make it really homely. When I woke up, I just couldn't forget my dream. I have a feeling that a house like that exists and I feel like it was my duty to find it. I went online and searched Google and Pinterest - nothing. Not even close to it; but most of all, this dream got me thinking. It felt very realistic and it got me wondering what dreams really are? My theory is that when we sleep, our soul temporarily moves out of our body and "jumps" to another reality. I believe that there is another Universe, existing parallel to ours, where the reality is different and so are scientific facts, and laws of nature and physics. Actually, I believe that there are more than one Universe and every time we dream, we find ourselves in another (random) reality. The idea of the existence of parallel universes is generally considered a science-fiction but as modern science progresses with new discoveries, the theory of parallel universes seems something measurable and closer to reality than ever before. Back to my reasoning, I truly believe that there are many worlds, spread within another dimension, existing next to our World, as we know it. Each of them has its own, specific set of characteristics that is considered a fiction in any other of the remaining worlds. What we see as real in our reality, would be an imagination in another. We know that human body is run by energy. The energy itself is not per se visible. Human body acts as a sort of pouch, a tool that is loaded with an electrical charge, which can last forever if uninterrupted. I have a theory about that as well but in this article, we will concentrate on the role of that energy in relation to our dreams. Despite an extensive research, scientists haven't got a clue how it works. There are some theories linking dreams to religion and there might be something to it indeed. The truth is, we will never know. Yet I have my own opinion that literally took my fear of death away and I am gagging to share it with others. First of all, the energy in our bodies is what we call a "soul". It is intelligent and it is the actual form for what we call Life. What I believe is that every time we fall asleep, our energy partially slips out of our body, leaving behind just a small charge necessary to keep the body alive and able to rejuvenate. Since the body is temporarily "useless" due to exhaustion, the energy is dynamic and produces electric charge, which has to be dispensed in some way. Dispensing it into already tired body would lead to a damage to it. The Soul, as an intelligent entity, will aim to preserve the "pouch". During our sleep, the soul moves out from our Universe and "jumps" to another Universe, where it takes over another "pouch", which by the way might look completely different to what we look like. The soul itself does not pay attention to physical differences, hence it "works" in that body in the same way. Since time flows differently in other dimensions, a few hours spent out of our sleeping body, could be a life time in other, parallel reality. The soul then returns to our relaxing body. My guess is that the soul, brings some fragments of memories from the parallel world it just came back from. The moment the soul re-enters the body, we experience REM phase of sleep, this is when we "see" our dreams, which, I believe, are those brought back, random memories. Assuming that there are unlimited number of universes, and every time we dream the soul travels to a different one, we rarely dream the same dream twice. It might happen though, especially if a person is able to invoke so called Lucid Dreams, where the person is conscious and can actually decide what to dream about. In this case, the soul would consciously seek to return to the same universe to continue the same dream. If we assume that each "travel" involves a "trip" to one life-time in one universe, we could speculate that universes have abilities to "repeat themselves"; therefore our perception of time running forwards only, would be relevant only to the time space that we live in. So how this theory makes me not afraid of death? Well, I believe that we all are The Souls; therefore, we don't really die as such. Energy cannot be disposed of, it can only be transformed. When death occurs, our body (the pouch) is being disposed of and the soul itself is undergoing transformation. We don't die! We move on. The body is just a flesh and we are so used to them that we forget to think about what really makes us exist. It is not what we see that makes us who we are. Without our mind we are nothing and since we do not understand how this mechanism works, we fear anything what differs from our Earthly norms. If death is a result of old age or an illness, in other words, if the soul is aware of inevitable expiration of the pouch, the body is taken care of in this universe and the soul is travelling to another destination. In case of sudden death, the transformation is not planned in advance and might become disrupted. In such case, the soul could experience difficulties moving to another dimension and will become "stuck" in the universe it came from. The confused soul would be logically stay close to its known surroundings or/and close to people that were playing a significant part during its lifetime. The soul is there but cannot interact with others, since it is not visible. Yet the soul is intelligent and able to hold emotions. Since it cannot move on, it will try to fit back in. It will try to materialise again by using all available energy sources in vicinity. Sounds familiar? Yes, we have just explained the very nature of hauntings and ghostly apparitions. It is all science; but this is yet another subject that would take too long to explore here. Just remember, death is the new beginning. What is not possible here and now, you will experience in another life. Call it whatever you like but just tell me - don't you feel a bit more reassured after thinking of things this way?
